36th Street met Linda and Rick back in October and immediately loved both of them! They are such an sweet, adorable couple, and both keep a hectic schedule as doctors. I am glad that I can help make this process easy for them, and I am so excited for their November wedding at Mercury Hall! {How we met}
We met in Galveston TX during a pre-med summer program. We were from different universities and in different cities but kept in touch and finally got together. We both ended up attending the same medical school at UTMB in Galveston.
{The engagement}
We took a trip before the end of med school to Steamboat Springs, CO because neither if us had been skiing. The day he proposed he treated me to a mani-pedi, massage and romantic dinner. After dinner we took a quiet walk outside in the snow and he asked me to marry him. Little did I know he had someone taking pictures from inside one if the restaurants.
{Why Austin}
We decided to marry in Austin because Austin became our home. Hurricane Ike pushed us out of Galveston but it was a blessing in disguise; we couldn’t picture getting married anywhere else.
{Favorite thing to do together in Austin}
Our favorite thing to do in Austin is finding new places to eat and relax with our friends. Winebars are one if our favorites.
{What we are most excited about our wedding}
We are looking forward to bringing our new friends and old friends along with our families and having them celebrate our marriage with us. Also, there’s a zombie grooms cake that we are both excited about.
{If we had to give our wedding a theme, what would it be…}
At this point, its a blend of romantic, Mexican with hints of Austin.
{Our plans for after the wedding..}
We hope to honeymoon in Hawaii or Bora Bora.
